3.The “Cheung Kong Scholar” professor should lead the training of the second echelon of academic studies in his/her discipline. He/she should organize and lead a team of innovation to engage in teaching and research according to the characteristics and requirements of the discipline. The chair professor should organize or participate in organizing an innovation team of the highest standard internationally according to the strategic requirements of the country and the latest development of science and technology.
4.The “Cheung Kong Scholar” professor should undertake and direct the state key scientific research projects according to the strategic requirements of the country and the latest development of science and technology. He/she should try to score landmark achievements in conducting original researches concerning the major theory and practice issues and tackling the problems in the key areas.
IV. Salaries and Benefits
1.The “Cheung Kong Scholar” professor will be granted a prize of 100,000 yuan and the university will award to him/her another 100,000 yuan every year during the tenure of office. He/she will enjoy the salary, insurance and welfare provided by the university in accordance with the relevant regulations of the country. The university will ensure the funds for his/her scientific research (over 2,000,000 yuan for researches in natural sciences and over 500,0000 yuan for researches in social sciences). The university will provide him/her with a house of 150 square meters or so and the settling-in allowance up to 200,000 yuan. Assistants, the echelon of academic studies, workshop/office, and vehicles for the official business will also be provided. The university will solve the problems concerning his/her spouse’s employment and his/her children’s enrolments in new schools.
2.The chair professor will be granted a prize of 15,000 yuan and the university will award to him/her another 15,000 yuan every month during the tenure of office (calculated on the basis of the period he/she actually works in Anhui University). The university will provide the funds for his/her scientific research and ensure accommodations and workshops. Assistants and the echelon of academic studies will also be provided.

1.The applicant should download from the website of “Cheung Kong Scholar” (http://www.cksp.edu.cn) the personal software of the application for “Cheung Kong Scholar” revised by the Ministry of Education and fill the forms “The Application Form for the Cheung Kong Scholar Professorship” and “The Application Form for the Chair Professorship”. The forms will be automatically printed by the software and no revision is expected.
2.Besides the afore-mentioned forms, the applicant should submit a set of additional materials, which include
